Group Painting is a fun way to paint with other pastel artists, get inspired, learn, make friends, and have a productive day.
If you're interested in participating...every event...once in a while...it's best to place your name on a distribution list.

Plein Air Painting
From May through November (weather permitting) MAPS members meet as a group to paint en plein air at various locations in the Kansas City Metro Area. Everyone is welcome – from beginner to expert. Mike Flora, our Plein Air Chair (and expert), organizes these outings. And if you're new to plein air, no worries! Mike will give you a list of everything you'll need to help get you started, and there will be other plein air enthusiasts to help you on site. Contact: Mike Flora, [email protected]

Studio Painting - Just for the fun of it!
MAPS members meet at Buena Vista Studio (51st & Buena Vista) usually on a Saturday morning, 9 until noon. Easels and tables are provided, and usually a still life is set up. We can accommodate about 10 people. The fee is around $5, depending on how many people show up. Sometimes we go to lunch afterwards. And beginners are welcome - there are plenty of people to help you out on your journey. Learn about supplies, paper, different kinds of pastels, techniques - and meet some incredible artists!
